| Trim Castle |
| Today you will drive through the town of Trim, past the ‘Braveheart’ movie castle to the village of Girley where we will meet the Murtagh family and celebrate Mass before a visit to their Causey Farm to become ‘Irish for the Day.’ The Murtagh’s have been farming in this area for over 1,000 years and share their experiences. Here you will learn to bake brown bread, watch a sheep dog demonstration and visit the bog to learn about peat as fuel (weather permitting). After a hearty traditional lunch, learn some Irish songs and maybe an Irish dance before bidding farewell to the Murtaghs and returning to Dublin for overnight. |
